All data collected is:

• Stored locally on your device only
• Encrypted using industry-standard AES encryption

Specific Use Cases:

• VPN Service: Network traffic is filtered locally for protection; no data is sent to external servers
• Accessibility Service: Used only to detect content access attempts for security monitoring
• Camera Guard: Monitors camera access requests to provide biometric protection
• Location: Optional permission used only to capture evidence when security incidents are detected
• Storage Access: Required for image fingerprinting, watermarking, and document scanning

Data Retention

• Security logs are retained for 30 days, then automatically deleted
• Image fingerprints are stored until you manually delete them
• Document scans are stored until you manually delete them
• VPN logs are retained for 7 days, then automatically deleted

Your Rights and Control

You have complete control over your data:

• Access: View all data stored by the app in Settings
• Delete: Uninstall the app to permanently delete all data
• Disable Features: Turn off any feature at any time
• Revoke Permissions: Remove any permission through Android Settings
• Export: Export your security logs and scanned documents

Permissions Explained

Uwezo Protection requests the following Android permissions:

Required Permissions:

1. VPN Service (android.permission.BIND_VPN_SERVICE)
   • Purpose: Create a local VPN for network filtering and protection
   • Usage: All network traffic is filtered locally; no data sent to external servers
2. Accessibility Service (android.permission.BIND_ACCESSIBILITY_SERVICE)
   • Purpose: Monitor content access attempts for security
   • Usage: Detect when other apps attempt to access protected content
   • Note: We do NOT use this to collect your personal data
3. Foreground Service (android.permission.FOREGROUND_SERVICE)
   • Purpose: Keep protection active in the background
   • Usage: Required for always-on security features
4. Boot Completed (android.permission.RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED)
   • Purpose: Start protection automatically after device restart
   • Usage: Ensures continuous protection

5. Camera (android.permission.CAMERA)
   • Purpose: Document scanning feature
   • Usage: You control when the camera is used
   • Note: Can be denied; Camera Guard will still work
6. Location (android.permission.ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION)

   • Usage: Only captured when security event is detected
   • Note: You can deny this permission
7. Storage (READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE)
   • Purpose: Image fingerprinting and document scanning
   • Usage: Access photos for protection features
   • Note: You choose which files to protect

Data Security

We take security seriously:

• Biometric Protection: Sensitive features require fingerprint/face unlock
